In 2009, the organisations formerly known as the Public Trustee (PT), the Office of the Protective Commissioner (OPC) and the Office of the Public Guardian (PG) merged to become one entity called the NSW Trustee and Guardian (NSWTG). The NSWTG is part of the Department of Justice and Attorney General (DJAG).
Services offered include Will Making, Administration of Deceased Estates, Trustee services, Power of Attorney services, Asset and Fund Administration, Financial Management and Substitute Decision-making services, as well as specialist services including Tax, Legal, Assets, Client Investments, Financial Planning and Financial Services.
The merger and combined needs of NSWTG represented a new service delivery model, the need for merged client support systems and improved business processes. The purpose of the review is to outline application functionality that will support NSWTG business needs and assess the principal client support applications in use and determine their ‘fit-for-purpose’. The review assessed a range of options and provided recommendations covering the options of build, buy or customise existing applications.
